We went on February 20th, it was snowing heavily, but we were lucky to go up. We got hurt a little bit from slipping and hitting our butt, but it still hurts now, lol. It was so cold that day, our hands were super cold, and we even had the experience of secretly tasting the falling snow 😂

🚄 How to get there
Start from Ueno Station (because we stayed in this area), take the Joetsu Shinkansen at platform 19, get off at Gala Yuzawa Station

**I emphasize that you should listen to the station name carefully. When you are about to get off, you might get off at the wrong station. Get off at Echigo - Yuzawa Station (it also ends in Yuzawa). We almost got off at the wrong station, but luckily we ran back up in time, lol. The whole trip took about 1.30 hours.

Get off at Gala Yuzawa Station and walk straight to the gondola ticket booth. We also chose to buy a package to go up to The Bell of Love.

📣 The advantage of using Tokyo Wide Pass

is that it is cheap and you can book a round trip. There is a seat for sure. But if you don't reserve, you have to wait in a long line to get on the Shinkansen (you may not have a seat and have to stand all the way to Tokyo).
