Many believe that one day in Zhangjiajie is not enough to see anything. That’s a myth! This tried-and-tested itinerary will allow you to cover all the main 'Avatar' views and return before dark.

🚀 'Anti-Crowd' Itinerary for 1 Day:

⏰ 7:30 - MORNING: BEAT THE CROWD

· Entrance: Not through the main one! Take a taxi to the South Entrance (Zimugyang Entrance).
· First stop: Head straight to the Bailong Elevator (百龙天梯) without delay. You’ll be among the first to reach the top while the crowds are still arriving at the main entrance.

⏰ 9:00 - 12:00: THE TOP OF AVATAR’S WORLD

· 'Avatar Hallelujah' Viewpoint: From the elevator, walk 10 minutes to the Yuanjiajie platform — the iconic spot with floating pillar-like mountains from the movie poster. Capture your main shots here!
· Transfer: Take the park bus to the Yangjiajie stop. The views here are even grander, and there are fewer people.

⏰ 12:00 - 14:00: LUNCH AND REST

· Snack break: In the Tianzi Mountain area, there are cafes and food stalls. Prices are high, so it’s better to bring sandwiches/fruits with you.

⏰ 14:00 - 16:00: DESCENT INTO THE CANYON

· Cable car: At Yangjiajie, take the Yangjiajie Cable Car for a breathtaking descent and fantastic views.
· Walk along the bottom: Enjoy an easy and scenic walk through the Golden Whip Stream Canyon. Follow the trail for about 1.5-2 km — it’s the most accessible and beautiful section.

⏰ 16:30 - EXIT

· Finish: The trail will lead you to the Main Entrance (Wulingyuan Entrance), from where you can easily take a taxi or bus back to the city.

💡 Pro Tips:

· Download the park map offline! The signage can sometimes be confusing.
· Carry water and sunscreen. The trails can get quite warm.
