Zhan Garden is located in the Qinhuai Scenic Area of Confucius Temple in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province. It is the oldest surviving Ming Dynasty classical garden in Nanjing and one of the "Four Famous Gardens of Jiangnan." Its history dates back to the Wu King's Mansion before Zhu Yuanzhang, the founding emperor of the Ming Dynasty, ascended the throne. Famous for its rockeries, it was named after Ouyang Xiu's poem "Looking towards the Jade Hall, as if in heaven." During the Ming Dynasty, it was known as the "Number One Garden of the Southern Capital." The garden features an elegant and exquisite layout, magnificent Ming and Qing Dynasty ancient buildings, steep and towering rockeries, the renowned Northern Song Taihu stones, serene and simple pavilions and terraces, and spectacular peaks and ridges. It is well worth a visit.
