Zhenjiang - Beigu Mountain

Beigu Mountain is located in Jingkou District, Zhenjiang City, Jiangsu Province.
- Natural Scenery: Beigu Mountain is 258 meters above sea level. It is located by the river and has steep cliffs and rugged mountains. It looks like a giant dragon and has been praised as "blocking the eastward flow of the river" and "carving stones to form a mountain range" since ancient times. The mountain has unique ancient volcanic geological features, including "36 cliffs and 72 caves". The scenery is beautiful and colorful.
- History and Culture: It is said that when Emperor Qin Shihuang passed by here during his eastern tour, he renamed the "Ruimountain" with auspicious air to "Beigu Mountain". Beigu Mountain has a profound historical and cultural heritage. The "Yihou Zhonggui" and other bronzes unearthed from the nearby Yandun Mountain have advanced the history of Zhenjiang City recorded in the text to more than 3,000 years ago. The Baoen Pagoda on the main peak is the first pagoda along the Yangtze River and has a profound culture of gratitude.
- Religious Holy Land: Beigu Mountain is an excellent place for Buddhists to practice. There are Xilin Temple, Dongxia Temple, Shaolong Temple, Lengyan Zen Temple, etc., and there are endless incense guests and believers all year round.
- Local Cuisine: After visiting Beigu Mountain, you must taste the local food. For example, Zhenjiang pot lid noodles, the noodles are chewy and the soup is delicious; there is also long fish soup, the soup is thick and delicious, with crispy fried long fish shreds; and crab yellow buns, the filling is full, fresh and delicious.
