Luojia Mountain, Putuoshan, Zhoushan.

Luojia Mountain is located about 5 km southeast of Putuoshan, facing it across the sea. According to the Lotus Sutra, there is a mountain in this place, and there is a Bodhisattva named Avalokitesvara. Historically, Putuo and Luojia have been linked together. It is said that Avalokitesvara first practiced and attained enlightenment on Luojia Mountain, and later went to Putuoshan to establish a Bodhisattva temple. Looking east from Putuoshan, Luojia Mountain stands alone in the sea, like a reclining sea Buddha lying on the lotus ocean. There are special boats to Luojia Mountain from Putuoshan every morning and afternoon. Tourist resources include Xiangdao, Miaozhan Pagoda, and Yuantong Hall.
This trip to Ningbo and Putuoshan, Zhoushan, started with a high-speed train to Ningbo, where we stayed at the Shangri-La Hotel, Ningbo, and visited the Former Residence of Chiang Kai-shek in Xikou, Fenghua, Tianyi Pavilion Museum, and Ningbo Museum. On the afternoon of the third day, we took a bus to Putuoshan and stayed at the Hilton Zhoushan for three nights. We took a ferry to Putuoshan Scenic Area for two days to worship Avalokitesvara. What a wonderful time!
