Zhuhai's free attractions are truly amazing! Successfully unlocked the right way to enjoy off-season travel with my bestie, staying in a smart hotel for just over 200 RMB per person and checking in at stunning spots—this cost performance is unbeatable✨
🏨 Accommodation Recommendation
The Zhuhai Haizhizhu Hotel we stayed at this time was a real surprise! A smart hotel newly opened in 2024 (navigate to No. 138 Yuehua Road, Shops 5-8, Gongbei Market), just a 15-minute walk to Gongbei Port. The room has a projector and a massage chair, and waking up to the Xiaodu voice alarm in the morning was super fun~ The best part is the Gongbei Market right downstairs, where you can buy seafood and have it cooked for about 50 RMB per person at night until you're full!
🌊 Must-Visit Free Attractions
1️⃣ Seaside Swimming Area
White sandy beach + Love Post Office Lighthouse make for amazing photos! Recommended to come at 4 PM, so after taking pictures you can watch the sunset. Don’t forget to buy a lighthouse coffee as a prop☕️
2️⃣ Yeli Island
The Sun and Moon Shell Theater looks like a shell during the day and turns into a starry sky at night! Cycling around the island is super comfortable, and there are many cats hiding in the grass🐈 (secret tip: the mirror in the theater restroom is perfect for mirror selfies)
3️⃣ Seaside Park
The huge banyan tree lawn looks like a comic scene, perfect for bringing a picnic mat and zoning out. You’ll often see couples taking wedding photos💐
4️⃣ New Yuanming Palace
A 1:1 replica of Western-style ruins, wear Hanfu to pretend you’re in Europe! The hidden photo spot is in the corridor to the right of the Zodiac Fountain⛲️
🍡 Food Highlights
▫️ "Ming Ji Claypot Rice" on the second floor of Gongbei Market, a local favorite
▫️ "Shen Ji Eatery" opposite the hotel, serving Chaoshan seafood porridge
▫️ "Dexian Coffee" next to the Sun and Moon Shell ticket office, with sea views
💡 Practical Tips
• Zhuhai buses cost 1 RMB and go directly to major attractions; taxis are also affordable
• Free shuttle buses from Macau border to The Venetian
• Remember to bring a jacket by the sea! The wind can be really strong
• Attractions are basically empty on weekday mornings during the off-season
