On October 3, 2024, 64 of us came to Yu County. Because Xiaowutai is a nature reserve and is currently not open, we were curious and wanted to visit Huichuan Scenic Area, which is close to Xiaowutai. This place has the most beautiful autumn scenery in the north. The ticket is half price at CNY 47, and the round-trip fare in the scenic area is CNY 30. If you don't buy a scenic spot bus ticket, it is about 2 kilometers to walk to the ticket gate, which takes half an hour. I took a car up the mountain. The winding mountain road has no scenery. It is just a climb all the way. There are some nondescript thatched huts similar to African natives on the mountain. There is a mountain god temple built in 2023 at the highest point. The main scenic spot of Huichuan is built along a mountain stream. There is a gurgling stream along the way, and waterfalls of various sizes converge into the mountain stream. You can walk down the wooden plank road to the ticket gate in 2 hours. A few hundred meters before the ticket gate is the return station of the scenic spot bus, and it is only a few minutes to the gate.
Huichuan Scenic Area in Yu County is located in Songzhikouyu, Yu County, Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province. It is located at the southwestern foot of Xiaowutai Mountain and is a canyon experience scenic area with primitive natural scenery as the core. It is the only natural ecological scenic area in the Xiaowutai Mountain area that can be legally developed with the largest single area. Huichuan Scenic Area is famous for its unique landscape, rich natural ecological resources and diverse tourism experiences, and has become an ideal place for tourists in Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei and surrounding areas to relax, vacation, and escape the summer heat.
The scenic area has rich natural ecological resources, including towering mountains and ridges, canyon waterfalls, primitive forests, strange flowers and plants, and rare animals. Not only is it a "natural gene bank" and "natural laboratory", it also has the largest primitive forest in North China, providing valuable living space for biodiversity. The natural landscape in the scenic area includes Nine Waterfalls and Eighteen Pools, Hanging Plank Road, Five Lakes and Four Seas and more than 40 other attractions, each of which has its unique natural beauty and geological features.
