📍Location: Hohhot, Inner Mongolia, China
Summer in Hohhot opens the gateway to a different China—one filled with endless blue skies, rolling grasslands, and the scent of wildflowers on the breeze. Just outside the city, we spent two unforgettable days in a traditional Mongolian yurt (ger), waking to the sound of hooves and herders calling across the plains. We rode horses across open fields, learned throat singing from locals, and shared milk tea under star-filled skies. In town, the Dazhao Temple offered stunning silver Buddha statues and quiet reflection. Hohhot in summer is wide, wild, and full of soul—perfect for travelers craving cultural depth and space to breathe.
