Zibo Historical Tour: Zibo City Museum

The Zibo City Museum is located in the downtown area and serves as the final stop of the Zibo tour. Conveniently close to the hotel, it’s worth a visit. The museum houses a collection of exquisite artifacts. In 2023, admission was free as all museums in Shandong Province waived their fees during that period. Visitors needed to make reservations to enter. Parking at the museum is convenient, making it a worthwhile destination.

The main exhibits focus on artifacts from the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, particularly those related to the Qi State, extending into the Qin and Han dynasties. The museum boasts a rich variety of artifacts, including archaeological finds from different periods in Zibo. Some of the top-tier artifacts are truly remarkable. The main building of the museum was completed in 1992 and houses 689 precious artifacts, including 50 national first-class cultural relics and 99 second-class relics. Many items were unearthed from the burial pits of the Western Han Qi King’s tomb. Note that the museum is closed on Mondays! It takes about an hour to explore the entire museum. The staff are very friendly and helpful!
