Ruoergai Langmu Temple

Ruoergai Langmu Temple is located in the northwest of Ruoergai County, Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, situated at the source area of the Bailong River where Sichuan, Gansu, and Qinghai provinces meet. This temple is an important ancient monastery of the Gelug school of Tibetan Buddhism, originally built in 1413 by one of the seven main disciples of Master Tsongkhapa (the first Gerdhi Living Buddha, Rongqin Gengdun Jianzang). It was later expanded by the fifth Gerdhi Living Buddha, forming a complete Buddhist university system, including the Upper Tantra Institute, the Study and Reflection Institute, the Kalachakra Institute, and the Medical Institute. Therefore, it holds a significant position in the history of Tibetan Buddhism.
