This trip plan is not to spend much time in Chengdu, so I planned two well-received restaurants (Jincheng Impression, Furong Phoenix Garden Restaurant), three time-honored brands (Chen Mapo Tofu, Mouse Cave Laozhang Duck Shop, Zhongshui Dumplings), and a hot pot (Xiaolong Fan Dajiang Restaurant). Jincheng Impression (hot pot), Chen Mapo Tofu, and Rat Cave Lao Zhang Duck Shop are highly recommended. There are too many delicacies to eat, so I will go to Chengdu again in the future.

This trip coincided with the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day, so please leave early for two days of annual leave, which can be regarded as a staggered trip. Last year, when I planned to go to Gannan, after careful consideration, I decided to replace Gannan with Jiuzhaigou, after all, it is more convenient to go to Gannan or from Lanzhou.
Route:
The general route from Chengdu to Jiuzhaigou is to take the G213 National Highway, passing through Dujiangyan-Wenchuan-Maoxian-Songpan-Chuanzhusi, which takes 8-9 hours. Pingtou Qiang Village is located in Mao County, and you can choose to stop and visit on the way to Jiuzhaigou. Munigou Scenic Area is located next to Songpan County, and Huanglong Scenic Area is 40KM northeast of Songpan County. Those who want to visit Munigou or Huanglong need an extra day of travel, and can choose to stay in Songpan or Chuanzhushi.The site of Xuankou Middle School in Sichuan Wenchuan is located in Yingxiu Town, Wenchuan County, that is, the most serious place of the Wenchuan earthquake on May 12, 2008, the epicenter memorial hall is located on the mountain opposite the site of Xuankou Middle School, the tour time is about 1-2 hours, and you can choose to stop and visit on the way to Jiuzhaigou, but our plan is to go back to Chengdu on the way back to Bipenggou, because the distance is short and there is plenty of time. There is also a route to take the G5 Expressway and G75 Expressway, which is 1 hour longer than the G213 National Highway.
The above is our original plan, but we actually chose a sword to take the route of the edge. Before departure in the morning, the navigation gave way to the G5 Expressway, and the navigation prompted the congestion ahead, and after the refresh, this route appeared - Mianyang Exit to the Expressway - National Highway 247 - Provincial Highway 105 - Provincial Highway 205, all the way to Jiuzhaigou, extending the Fujiang River to Jiuzhaigou. At first, you can still see a lot of cars on the road, and after driving through Pingwu County, there are basically no cars on the road. The road conditions are very bad, with many rockfalls, landslides, mudslides, and several wading sections, and the road conditions near Jiuzhaigou County are relatively good, so it took a total of 12.5 hours to reach the hotel. Although the sword is sharp, it is more than enough.
A certain section of Provincial Highway 205 is not easy to walk, and some natural forces are irresistible to humans. After dark, there will be many road collapses and some wading sections, and the road conditions are not good but vehicles can pass. Figure 2 is above the collapsed house is the Jiumian Expressway under construction, and the Jetta behind Figure 4 is the only partner on the road, and it is also simple to chat when we enter the gas station after going down the mountain.

After breakfast at the hotel, we set off at 8 o'clock to walk to Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area, the hotel is about 600 meters away from the visitor center, which is relatively close, because it takes about 8 hours to play, so it cannot be too late. Buy tickets online in advance (the reservation window is at the bottom of the official website), swipe your ID card to enter directly, and go 20 meters forward after ticket inspection to the bus boarding point. The official website can also check the number of people booked on the day, and there were not many people on the 1st, so I quickly got on the bus. Due to the epidemic this year, the scenic spot was limited to 17,000 people on the same day, and increased to 23,000 people during the 11th period. If there is any new information, the official website will notify you, everything is subject to the official website, it is best to check the official website notification bar before booking tickets, or call to inquire. There are also introductions and play suggestions on the official website.
Peak season tickets are 169/person, sightseeing tickets are 90/person, and sightseeing buses (i.e. buses) must be taken for tours, with a total price of 259/person. You need to fill in the entry time, it is recommended to enter the park from 7:30 to 8:30.
Jiuzhaigou has different scenery all year round, and I personally think that there are relatively many people coming to Jiuzhaigou in autumn (mid-October to mid-November), because the vegetation will be colorful, and we are basically green this time. Due to the 17-year earthquake, many attractions are still under maintenance, and the primeval forest to the Wuhuahai are not open. On August 8, 2017, the spark sea burst its embankment in the 7.0 magnitude earthquake of Jiuzhaigou, forming a breach 40 meters long, 12 meters wide and 15 meters high, and the lake landscape disappeared. Coupled with the impact of this year's Jiuzhaigou floods, the most beautiful sea of sparks in Jiuzhaigou has just opened before this year's National Day, and the scenery is still very beautiful although it is not before the earthquake.
The scenic spots of Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area are divided into three main ditches: Zechawa Ditch, Rize Ditch and Shuzheng Gou, forming a "Y" shape, with a total length of about 60 kilometers. Nuorilang Central Station is located at the intersection of Santiaogou and is the only place to eat in the scenic area and the only place with a smoking area. The sightseeing bus when entering the park will take tourists to Changhai or Wuhuahai according to the schedule, and tourists cannot choose.Each attraction is connected by a wooden plank road, but not every attraction has a sightseeing station, each car is equipped with a docent, and before arriving at the station, they will tell where the boarding point of this station is, some in place, and some in the next attraction.
The visitor center before entering the ditch has a paper Jiuzhaigou road map, which details the order and names of each scenic spot, and the most important thing is the mark of the getting on and off stations next to the name of the scenic spot. There are three types of stations:
one is up and down, and generally large attractions belong to this range: such as Wuhua Sea, Pearl Beach, etc.
One is that you can only go up and down: for example, the colorful pond (you can only walk down from the long sea)
The other is that you can't go down: such as the Spark Sea (you have to walk to the Shuanglong Sea if you want to get on the bus) and
theother is that there is no stop, such as the Reed Sea (you can only walk down from the Spark Sea or go up from the bonsai beach).

Generally, the sightseeing car pulls to Wuhuahai, walks down along the plank road, and takes a bus at Pearl Beach Station to Nuorilang Central Station. Basically, everyone comes in on this line, so there are more people, if it is possible to go first, it is actually better to check the valley and visit at different peaks. Nuozhilang is a transfer center station, the confluence of the three lines is here, and you must transfer here to go to another line. We arrived at Norilang at noon, and we went to Changhai first while there were not many people, and then came back to see Nuorilang Waterfall.
2. Zechawagou Line: Changhai - Wucai Pond - Shangjihai - Lower Jijihai - Nuorilang Central Station
Afterstaying in Changhai for a while, go down to Wucai Pond, and take a sightseeing bus back to Nuorilang Central Station after visiting Wucai Chi. If you want to visit Jiuzhaigou in one day, you can't go through the whole process of the sea in the upper and lower seasons, and the route is too long.
3. Shuzhenggou Line: Nuorilang Waterfall - Rhino Sea - Tiger Sea - Shuzheng Waterfall - Shuzheng Sea - Wolong Sea - Spark Sea - Shuanglong Sea - Reed Sea - Bonsai Beach

At 9 o'clock, I set off to find breakfast at Chuanzhu Temple, and after walking around, I found that I had settled in a place where there was fried dough sticks and beef offal soup, and after breakfast, I bought two oxygen tanks and set off. The first bay of the Yellow River is mainly to watch the sunrise and sunset, and it is also suitable to take pictures of the starry sky, of course, nothing can be seen on rainy days. Due to the abundance of time, it is expected to arrive at 5 p.m., and the road is also stop-and-go, the road condition is very good, there are not many vehicles, the road is very wide, and the Ruoerge grassland is on both sides. On the way to the first bay of the Yellow River, I will pass by Ruoerge and plan to have lunch in the county seat. It takes 2 hours to drive to Ruoerge County, stopped several times along the way, and ate at about 12 o'clock. I planned to pass by Huahu Lake and have time to see it, but the time delayed for lunch and the stop-and-go on the road was no longer allowed to play, so I didn't stop and continued to move towards the destination.
For lunch, choose the grassland Sanbao soup pot in Ruoerge County, which contains fungi and vegetables in the yak beef hot pot.

The first bay of the Yellow River is located in Tangke Town, Ruoerge County, due to its special geographical conditions, the Yellow River comes to the Ruoerge Grassland from west to east, turns a 180-degree bend, and then winds northwest. The total price of the ticket + sightseeing escalator package is 105/person (it seems that you can only buy a package). Those who book with a second-generation ID card need to go to the visitor center to exchange for a paper ticket to enter the park.
There is an observation deck above the mountain meadow at the best observation point, and the sightseeing escalator (only the escalator going up, the downhill can only be walked) is directly accessible, or you can walk up the plank road, it is recommended to take the sightseeing escalator. It is about 5 hours from Tangke to Bipenggou Scenic Area, and there are many observation decks on the road, some of which are charged. I planned to go to the tit ditch along the way, and after staying for a while, I returned to the G248 national highway to take a bite. The milk ditch is located on the way to the Dagu Glacier, and it is a few kilometers further after passing the Yaksia Snow Mountain Tunnel. After eating, the traffic jam began, and due to the impact of rainfall, there were many landslides and rockfalls on the national highway. Road traffic control, this time on the road took longer than the first day, 13.5 hours to reach Bipenggou.

Bipenggou Scenic Area integrates plateaus, glaciers and canyons, where the scenery is different throughout the year, but the autumn scenery is even worse, from mid-October to early November every year, the Bipenggou red leaf colorful forest is at the right time, and the entire scenic spot is filled with a strong autumn atmosphere.In winter, you can also go skiing in Bipenggou, the ski resort has 1 ski trail and a real ice pool, and the ski resort is small, suitable for novices to experience. Skiing during the day, enjoying the snow scenery, and staying in a hot spring hotel at night to soak in hot springs is a very good experience in winter. In late winter, the scenic spot is sometimes closed due to snowy and low temperatures, so it is recommended to check the weather conditions or consult by phone when visiting.
Itcan be reached in 2-3 hours from Chengdu, and can also be round-trip in 1 day. Tickets are 70 yuan/person, sightseeing bus is 60 yuan/person (it is very far from the gate of the scenic spot to the Shanghai sub-service station, you must choose to take a car, about 50 minutes by car). The end point of the sightseeing bus is the Shanghai Sub-Service Department, and you can choose to take the scenic battery car or hike (the whole journey is 9 kilometers) from the Shanghai Sub-Reception Center to various scenic spots along the way. The core attractions are probably Panyang Lake and Swallow Rock, where you can take a battery car. The battery car is divided into two sections: Shanghaizi - Panyang Lake, Panyang Lake - Yanziyan, each section is about 5 kilometers, each section of the battery car is 20 one-way, and the round trip is 30. Considering time, physical strength and viewing experience, it is recommended to choose a battery car and walk down. (At the altitude of Panyang Lake is 3500 plus, Yanziyan is 3800 plus)

It only takes 4 hours to get to Chengdu, passing by Yingxiu and planning to go to the earthquake site, considering that the car needs to be returned at 4 o'clock, so the time is still a bit tight. The highway can go directly to Chengdu, and there is no need to take the national highway. The earthquake site of Sichuan Wenchuan Earthquake Whirlpool Middle School is located in Yingxiu Town, Wenchuan County, and can be visited for free with an ID card. The Wenchuan Earthquake Epicenter Memorial Hall is on the mountain opposite the earthquake site of Whirlpool Middle School, and we chose to walk up, according to the police, there are a total of 512 steps. The memorial hall is closed all day on Mondays, and I personally guess that it may be because 2008.5.12 is a Monday (but it should be open on a statutory holiday, because the day we went happened to be Monday).

Today, the four of us acted separately, Ada and I walked around the city, the main purpose was to eat mapo tofu, and the two of them went to see pandas at the Chengdu Giant Panda Breeding Research Base early in the morning. At noon, we went to the Rat Cave Laozhang Duck Shop (with a takeaway window) to pack half a camphor tea duck and walked to the Chen Mapo Tofu main store, which was very close, all near Tianfu Square. Camphor tea duck looks average, but it is simply invincible to eat. After lunch, I walked 2 kilometers to People's Park to taste Zhongshui dumplings, and in the afternoon I had plenty of time to go shopping on Chunxi Road, and found a teahouse nearby to rest. Dinner was randomly found near Chunxi Road to eat, Xiaolong Fan Dajiang Restaurant should be the taste of old hot pot, the taste is average, it feels similar to what I ate in Beijing, and the impression of Jincheng I ate a few days ago is incomparable.

High-speed train at 7 o'clock, get up early in the morning, the hotel is not far from the high-speed rail station, Eat McDonald's at the high-speed rail station for breakfast. I was basically sleeping for more than 7 hours the whole time, and I might have been too tired from playing a few days ago.

It is also necessary to travel at different peaks, there are few cars on the road, there are few people in scenic spots, the queuing time is short, and the mood of playing is different. A day in Chengdu is obviously not enough, and there are many main delicacies. Regarding the food I didn't eat much this time, I highly recommend Jincheng Impression, Chen Mapo Tofu, and Rat Cave Lao Zhang Duck Shop.
Regarding accommodation, Jiuzhaigou Liwan Resort Hotel is not bad as a whole, the hotel has its own restaurant, parking lot, shops downstairs, next door is Dex (closed when we went, I don't know if it will be open), basically it should be the closest hotel to the scenic spot, it is very convenient to walk there.There is a river behind the hotel, the water is very loud, and I personally think most other hotels are like this, basically by the river.
Chengdu is best to take the national highway to Jiuzhaigou, there are many scenery along the way, the road is up to 3,000 meters above sea level, a few people will have high reactions, it is best to prepare an oxygen tank. Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area is relatively large, but you can play for one day or two days, I personally feel that Jiuzhaigou is the best service and management among the attractions I have been to, although the scenic spot is large, but the tour route is clear and convenient. The road conditions from Jiuzhaigou to the first bay of Jiuqu on the Yellow River are very good, there are not many vehicles, about 3500 above sea level, and there are several parking areas on the road. Bipenggou Scenic Area has a maximum altitude of 3,800 feet, and there is enough time to play in a day.
Overall, the travel experience was good, although there were occasional light rains on cloudy days, but Bipenggou also saw snow-capped mountains, and it didn't rain when other scenic spots played. In the future, the classic large and small ring lines in western Sichuan will be arranged, and Chengdu will have to come!
