The Chen Tuan Temple, located in Chenzhuang, south of Bozhou City, comprises a mountain gate, a stele pavilion, a main hall, a rear hall, two side halls, and the Chen Tuan Cultural Corridor. Inside the pavilion stands an ancient stele inscribed with the words " Hometown of Xiyi " during the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty. On either side of the pavilion stand stele inscriptions titled " Reconstructing the Hometown of Xiyi , " " A Study of the Origins of Chen Tuan, " and " The Return of the Chen Clan of Macau to Recognize Their Ancestors . "
A newly carved seated statue of Chen Tuan, depicting a sage-like figure, elegant and wise, inspires awe. The couplet on the main hall reads: "The principles of the Book of Changes encompass the universe; the old tortoise is the best of all time." This couplet highlights Chen Tuan's major academic achievements and his exceptionally long life. A stone statue of Chen Tuan sleeping is carved in the rear hall. Biographical introductions to Chen Tuan's life are located in the left and right side halls.
Chen Tuan, a native of Chenzhuang, 12 miles south of Bozhou City, was a renowned Chinese thinker, scholar of the Book of Changes, Taoist scholar, and Taoist priest. His courtesy name was Tunan, and he styled himself Fuyaozi. He was bestowed with the title of Baiyun Xiansheng by Emperor Shizong of Zhou, Chai Rong, and Xiyi Xiansheng by Emperor Taizong of Song, Zhao Kuangyi. As early as the Song Dynasty, a temple dedicated to Chen Tuan, known as the " Chen Tuan Temple ," was built in Chenzhuang, south of Bozhou City. After generations of renovation, it boasted 107 rooms at its peak .
