Introducing Xichun Terrace

Xichun Terrace stands on the west bank of Slender West Lake in Yangzhou, Jiangsu Province, facing Lotus Bridge. To the south of the main building are a rockery, a double-roofed path, and a double-eaved pavilion. To the north, a curved corridor connects to the Cross Pavilion. Xichun Terrace, located on the south bank of Lotus Bridge, was built by the Wang family. At the inland river exit from Fahai Bridge, a fan-shaped pavilion stands, its front eaves shaped like lips, its back eaves like teeth, and its sides like the shape of a character "八".

Legend has it that Xichun Terrace was where Yangzhou salt merchants celebrated the birthdays of Qing Dynasty emperors. The fact that they spent millions of gold to build such a magnificent pavilion for the emperor's birthday celebrations demonstrates the wealth of the Yangzhou salt merchants of the time. Yet, its grandeur and exquisite structure demonstrate the boundless charm of Yangzhou gardens.
