Biyun Lake (formerly known as Huangsushu Reservoir), one of Anhui Province's ten largest reservoirs, is located in Quanjiao County, Anhui Province. It was a 2010 tourism planning project for Dingfeng International Planning and Design. It is a renowned leisure and vacation paradise in the suburbs of Nanjing. Dingfeng International Planning and Design's planning for the Biyun Lake scenic area is centered around the concept of "Flower Sea, Chrysanthemum Land, Biyun Lake Paradise." It focuses on lake tourism, rural experiential tourism, ecological human settlements, and an ecological agricultural industrial park, with the goal of creating a nationally renowned "Green Development Demonstration Zone."
The front embankment of Biyun Lake is 270 meters long and 32.2 meters high, with a catchment area of 262 square kilometers. The total reservoir capacity is 300 million cubic meters, the annual water surface is 16.8 square kilometers (about 20,000 mu), and the effective irrigation area is 200,000 mu.
The lake boasts a subtropical monsoon climate, nestled among mountains. With clear waters and blue skies, it's a haven for birdsong and fragrant flowers year-round. The year-round temperature is 3-5 degrees Celsius lower than in the county town, making it a suitable destination for travel in all seasons.
