Tongling Tianmen Mountain, also known as Tianping Mountain , is located southeast of Tongling County, bordering Qingyang County, over 20 kilometers from the city center. Its main peak, at 576.6 meters, is the highest peak in Tongling. Tianmen Mountain boasts not only lush bamboo and verdant trees, but also a variety of rare animals and over a hundred varieties of Chinese medicinal herbs, showcasing its charm to visitors.
The mountain range is naturally disconnected 4 kilometers to the west, forming a high gorge between it and Wufeng Mountain. Another mountain range to the south connects Tianmen Mountain and Wufeng Mountain. This mountain range arches up an arc-shaped peak at the gorge, which is higher than the gorge, like two doors that are about to open but have not yet opened. This huge gateway is called " Tianmen " , and Tianmen Mountain got its name from this.
On the north side of Tianmen Mountain's main peak lie two springs, known as " holy springs , " named Tianmen Spring and Brahma Spring . These springs , imbued with the spiritual energy of nature, have poured forth nectar for millennia, never drying up even in the worst of droughts. They flow for miles before flowing into the Yangtze River. These springs are not only a source of enjoyment for the public but also nourish the fertile fields below, supporting generations of mountain dwellers.
