Once upon a time, this place was a small hill with an ancient cave nestled on its side. According to folklore, a divine bull from heaven descended to the mortal world, captivated by the scenery of Phoenix Mountain and unwilling to return. The Emperor of Heaven repeatedly summoned it, and the bull, in response, burrowed into the mountain and transformed into gold, silver, and copper. This is how the Golden Bull Cave got its name.

Since the 1980s, local residents have been mining for iron ore here. Over time, the mountain was flattened, but continued mining has resulted in an open-pit mine several dozen meters deep. Ancient mining shafts and artifacts have been exposed on the slopes. The excavated structures, mining tools, and pottery utensils suggest the Jinniu Cave site dates back to the Spring and Autumn Period.
