The Fuzhou Museum, founded in 1987, was originally located within the Yushan Dashi Temple in Fuzhou's Gulou District. The new building is now located at 8 Wenbo Road in Jin'an District. The Fuzhou Museum integrates the collection, preservation, conservation, appreciation, and research of cultural relics. Through exhibitions and cultural exchange, it showcases Fuzhou's glorious history and promotes its unique local culture. The museum's collection includes ceramics, bronzes, Shoushan stone carvings, calligraphy and paintings, silk fabrics, lacquerware, jade, antique furniture, and wood carvings. Currently, two permanent exhibitions are open to the public free of charge: "A Splendor of the Capital of Fujian: Exhibitions on Fuzhou's History and Culture" and "A Blessed City, Gateway to the Maritime Silk Road: A Special Exhibition on Fuzhou's Cultural Heritage along the Maritime Silk Road." In addition, the Fuzhou Museum continually presents a series of well-planned, themed, and innovative special exhibitions, as well as various temporary exhibitions with rich content, diverse forms, and a strong sense of the times.
