Sanshiliujiao Lake, located in Pingtan County, Fuzhou, is the largest natural freshwater lake in Fujian Province and a vital lake for the people of Pingtan. The lake, as smooth as a mirror, offers breathtaking scenery, earning it the nickname "The Pearl of the Island."
The lakeside is guarded by Zhaojing Mountain, Niu Mountain, and Haitan Mountain, each awash in lush greenery. The mountain's shadows flow, the shores are covered with lush grass, and the rocks are jagged and majestic. A poem by He Liancheng reads: " The vast expanse of waves opens like a mirror, and where the colorful clouds surge is the sky-high terrace. I dare to boast of being on top of the mountains, where the clear sunlight caresses my face."
Because Haitan Island is a sea-eroded landform, there are many strangely shaped rocks, including the Goshawk Stone, Rooster Stone, Mushroom Stone, Spring Bamboo Shoot Stone, Four-cornered Wind-moving Stone, and more than 40 other rocks , which are bizarre and interesting.
