Lingji Temple, located in the heart of Qingpu Township, Minhou County, Fuzhou City, is a Taoist temple . Originally named Dawang Temple, it was built during the Five Dynasties period . It was rebuilt in 1417 during the Yongle reign of the Ming Dynasty and renamed Lingji Temple. The current main hall was rebuilt during the Republic of China era, and most of the statues within were created in the 1980s .
The Lingji Temple in Qingpu, Minhou County, is dedicated to the Taoist folk deity Erxu Zhenren. Since the Song Dynasty, it has been a renowned Taoist shrine in Fujian. During the Ming Dynasty, thanks to the devotion of Emperor Chengzu Zhu Di, the temple reached its peak of prosperity. He specifically allocated funds for its construction, and the temple complex became exceptionally magnificent.
At the time, the Lingji Temple's administrators proudly inscribed the couplet " To see the Imperial Palace in Beijing, first visit the Qingpu Tzuji Temple " on the mountain gate . Unfortunately, due to historical changes, most of the Ming Dynasty buildings no longer exist. The only remaining Ming Dynasty structures are the all-wooden pavilion and the stone stele and stone tortoise shell below, bestowed by Emperor Chengzu Zhu Di.
