The Longchuan Grand Canyon, located in Tongcun, Xingcun Town, Wuyishan City, Fujian Province, stands out amidst the dense forests of Wuyi Mountain. From the moment you enter the scenic area, you're transported to a world of bonsai and waterfalls. Towering ancient trees and entwined vines create a scene that embodies millennia of spiritual energy, capturing both form and spirit. A magnificent waterfall cascades down the rocky mountain like a silver chain, scattering flowers and jade. The sunlight, against the backdrop of the Danxia mountain, creates a captivating, iridescent halo, creating a breathtaking spectacle that feels like a fairyland.
The red screens and emerald green are reflected by the cascading waterfalls and springs. The rocks and caves are bizarre and the vines are in various shapes. All the scenery is " generated from heaven and earth and returned to the creation of nature " . Even the bridges and thatched houses here are not colorful or painted, reflecting the natural elegance and simple and indifferent style.
Due to the characteristics of biodiversity in the nature reserve, there are more than 300 species of wild animals, insects and birds in these green mountains. There are 11 vegetation types of zonal vegetation , including evergreen broad-leaved forest, temperate coniferous forest, temperate coniferous and broad-leaved mixed forest , 56 communities and more than 170 cluster groups, which almost cover all subtropical vegetation types in China.

The main attractions include more than ten waterfalls or groups of waterfalls with unique characteristics, such as Qianceng Waterfall, Happy Waterfall, Triple Waterfall, Guanyin Waterfall, Jianquan Waterfall, and Hongyan Waterfall.

Longchuan Grand Canyon is located in Nanping, Fujian. It can be reached by taxi or bus from Nanping city center. There is no metro connection, so taxis or private transport are the most convenient options.
The canyon is open daily from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The best times to visit are in the spring and autumn when the weather is mild and the landscapes are at their most vibrant.
The entrance fee is approximately 80-100 RMB. Tickets can be purchased on-site, but some tour agencies may also offer online bookings.
Booking tickets in advance is not required, though it is recommended during peak seasons to ensure availability. Booking 1-2 days in advance is sufficient if visiting during off-peak times.
Exploring the canyon fully takes about 3-4 hours, depending on how much time you spend hiking and taking photos at the various viewpoints.
Guided tours are available in Mandarin. It’s advisable to check with the park before your visit to ensure availability. Audio guides are not commonly offered.
Start at the entrance, walk to the main observation platform, then follow the trail along the river to explore the canyon's unique rock formations. End your visit by taking a leisurely walk around the surrounding forest area for a more tranquil experience.
Night visits and light shows are not available at Longchuan Grand Canyon. The attraction is best explored during daylight hours to fully appreciate its natural beauty.
The canyon can get crowded during public holidays and weekends. The least crowded times are weekday mornings and in the off-season (autumn and winter).
Basic facilities such as public toilets and rest areas are available. There are small food stalls near the entrance offering snacks and beverages, but there are no large restaurants or shops inside the canyon.
The canyon’s trails can be challenging, especially for elderly visitors or those with mobility issues. Some sections are paved, but others are rugged and require moderate physical effort. It’s advisable to check with the park for accessible routes if needed.
Cash is accepted for small purchases. Mobile payments (WeChat Pay and Alipay) are commonly used at food stalls and the ticket counters. Credit cards are generally not accepted.

Several budget hotels and guesthouses are available in the nearby Nanping area. For more luxurious accommodations, you can find high-end hotels in the city center, about an hour's drive from the canyon.
There are small souvenir shops near the park entrance selling local handicrafts, such as wooden carvings, traditional Fujian tea sets, and local snacks.
