The Chinese Agricultural Civilization Museum is China's first dedicated museum dedicated to the systematic collection, research, and exhibition of Chinese agricultural history and culture. The basic display consists of six parts: the first part introduces the origin of Chinese agricultural civilization; the second part shows the creation and development of the traditional agricultural technology system; the third part is the historical evolution of China's agricultural system; the fourth part is the status and influence of traditional Chinese agriculture in the development of world agriculture; the fifth part is the rich and colorful rural life and agricultural culture; the sixth part is the display of the history of Nanjing Agricultural University, which uses real objects, pictures and texts to show the spirit of NAU people to inherit the torch and carry forward the past.

The Chinese Agricultural Civilization Museum's main collections include over 1,000 ancient agricultural tools, over 3,000 volumes of 346 original ancient agricultural texts, ancient agricultural and cultural items, ancient crop and animal specimens, and various domestic and international soil specimens. Fifteen of these, including the Ming Dynasty Jiajing edition of Qi Min Yao Shu (Essential Techniques for the People), the Chongzhen Pinglutang edition of Nong Zheng Quan Shu (Complete Book of Agricultural Administration), the Ming Dynasty edition of Bai Kong Liu Tie (Six Calligraphy Works of Tang and Song), and the Ming Dynasty edition of Zuo Bian (Left Edition of the History of Flowers), have been designated as rare ancient books by the State Council's Ancient Books Compilation Group.
