Gaochun Museum is located at Building 1, No. 7, Shijiu Hunan Road, Chunxi Town, Gaochun District, with a construction area of ​​5,500m2. There are 24 employees in the museum and the collection of more than 6,000 to 7,000 cultural relics, including more than 2,000 important cultural relics.

The basic exhibition of the museum is based on the theme of "Green water, green mountains, noble customs and honest people". The exhibition showcases the historical and cultural ecology of Gaochun, which is divided into six units: "Primitive Settlements and Ancient Cities", "Water Conservancy and Wetland Farming", "Heaven, Earth, People and Gods and the Spiritual World", "Migration of Migrants and Ethnic Communities", "Oral Transmission and Cultural Context", and "Local Scenery and Cultural Relics". The exhibition includes: animal and plant fossils from more than 10,000 years ago; a restoration of the living scenes at the "Xuecheng Ruins" of the Neolithic Age more than 6,300 years ago; a restoration of the scene where Wu Zixu excavated the Xu River, one of the oldest artificial canals in the world; a restoration of the scene of Gugucheng, which was built 208 years earlier than the Stone City, and a restoration and 3D display of the scene of Gaochun Old Street; paintings of Gaochun Taoist deities and important intangible cultural heritage large lanterns, images of the Five Devils Dance and light and shadow displays; a reproduction of Gaochun's historical water control feats as a Jiangnan water town and its two modern pillar industries, water transportation (including shipbuilding) and crab farming; an exhibition of the Gaochun dialect, known as the "living fossil of ancient Chinese", and Gaochun's folk customs.

The exhibition, with its rich and concise depiction, comprehensively and comprehensively showcases Gaochun's long history, unique cultural features, and diverse human and ecological landscape, encapsulating the essence of Gaochun's history, culture, and human ecology.
