The predecessor of this Republican-era building is the legendary "Meida Paper Shop", a five-story Republican-era building built in 1937.
The first and second floors house an exhibition of Republican-era paper products, the third and fourth floors house the Guanzhu Historical Architecture and Culture Research Institute, where exchange seminars can be held. The fifth floor houses a small cinema showcasing classic Republican-era films. It's rumored that the Impressions of the Republic of China Museum will soon feature exhibitions of Republican-era vinyl and cheongsams.
The old photos from the Republic of China period on the exhibition wall, the various paper products and books in the cabinets, and the old-fashioned draperies all give you a strong sense of the Republic of China era. On the second floor, you can also see the long balconies outside the windows. The stone railings are hollowed out and the sides are decorated with cloud-patterned stone carvings, which are extremely exquisite.
Subtropical monsoon climate; suitable for travel in all four seasons.
