Crescent Lake Park is located within the Dongjiao Scenic Area, bordered by the Ming Dynasty city wall to the west and overlooking the foothills of Zijin Mountain to the east. Southeast University, Nanjing University of the Arts, and the Nanjing Municipal Landscape Design Institute undertook the park's master planning, alternative design, and cultural innovation. The design embodies the essence of Chinese garden art, integrating mountains, water, city, and forest. It blends traditional style with modern techniques, placing cultural landscapes amidst authentic mountains and water, creating a beautiful and profound artistic conception.

The park, built along the ancient Ming Dynasty city wall and circling a lake, captures the beauty of the lake, the mountains, and the ancient walls. Within the park, the Night Shanghai Hotel, the lakeside hot springs, and the Chinese and Western Tea House are all exquisitely designed with vibrant and harmonious colors. Climbing the steps from the high wall, one can take in the panoramic views of the lake and mountains. On the water, there are boats with platforms, curved bridges, and pavilions overlooking the water, perfect for lakeside viewing and fishing. In the center of the lake stands a unique water stage with musical fountains, the largest in China. Four vivid sculptures of the ancient directional deities, the Azure Dragon, the Vermilion Bird, the Black Tortoise, and the White Tiger, stand in each direction, each symbolizing auspiciousness. Flower paths connect the gardens, offering a relaxing and refreshing stroll through the lush flowers, offering panoramic views of the lake and mountains.
