Introducing Zhaoyin Scenic Area

Zhaoyin Mountain was originally named Shouku Mountain. Because the Southern Dynasty sculptor and musician Dai Yong once lived in seclusion here, the name was changed to Zhaoyin Mountain, also known as Daigong Mountain. Upon entering Zhaoyin Mountain, a stone archway inscribed with "The High Retreat of Dai Yong in the Song Dynasty" comes into view. Inscribed on the stone pillars of the archway are the couplets: "Scholars leave and stay in Xiao Temple, Zhaoyin Mountain is empty, but Dai Gong is remembered." The former refers to Prince Zhaoming Xiao Tong, while the latter refers to Dai Yong.

Upon entering the scenic area, you'll see the authentic calligraphy of the great calligrapher Mi Fu, "City Forest," on the mountain gate. Mi Fu and his son lived in Nanshan for over 40 years, creating the unique "Mi School of Cloud and Mountain" here. While Zhaoyin Temple is no longer within the scenic area, the Zhaoyin Archway, commemorating the composer Dai Yong, and Tingli Mountain House, where he lived, are still visible. The two famous springs, Hupao Spring and Lupao Spring, are also located near the house.

Other attractions include the Reading Terrace, where Xiao Tong, the Crown Prince of the Southern Liang Dynasty, studied. However, these sites were destroyed during the Cultural Revolution, and what we see now are replicas rebuilt in 1981. A room showcases many of Zhenjiang's religious sites, including Jurong, a county under Zhenjiang's jurisdiction, featuring Baohua Mountain, associated with Buddhism, Maoshan, associated with Taoism, and the imperial tombs of the Liang Dynasty during the Six Kingdoms period.
