Zhongyuan Fu Tower (English: FU Tower), also known as Henan Radio and Television Tower, is a directly affiliated enterprise of Henan Radio and Television, a national AAAA-level tourist attraction, a key project of Henan Province's "Eleventh Five-Year Plan", and a landmark building in Henan Province. In 2012, it won the China Civil Engineering Zhan Tianyou Award.
Zhongyuan Fu Tower is located at the intersection of Hanghai East Road and the Airport Expressway in Zhengzhou, Henan Province. Standing 388 meters tall, it is the world's tallest all-steel transmission tower. It serves as a multifunctional commercial arts and cultural center integrating broadcast and television signal transmission, tourism, cross-border e-commerce, conference and exhibition services, cultural entertainment, dining, and a drive-in cinema. Zhongyuan Fu Tower is located to the north, adjacent to the Zhengdong New District, the Longhai Railway, and the Zhengdong CBD; to the east, it borders the Economic and Technological Development Zone, the Henan Free Trade Zone, and the Bonded Zone; to the west, it borders the economically prosperous Zhengzhou Old Town and the Airport Expressway; and to the south, it overlooks the rapidly developing Airport Comprehensive Experimental Zone and Xinzheng International Airport, offering seamless access to subways, buses, and highways.
The tower was designed by the Architectural Design Institute of Tongji University with a total investment of RMB 836 million. The tower is 388 meters high, of which the main body is 268 meters high and the mast is 120 meters high. The total weight of the steel structure is about 16,000 tons[3]. It ranks first among the all-steel TV towers built in the world so far, taller than the Tokyo Tower in Japan (333 meters) and the Eiffel Tower in France (321 meters).
The tower can transmit nearly 100 sets of radio and television program signals, effectively covering 36 million people within a radius of 120 kilometers, providing high-quality radio and television programs to Zhengzhou city and its surrounding rural areas, contributing to building a harmonious Central Plains and enriching the spiritual and cultural life of the people.
