Luanchuan Grand Canyon Rafting is invested, developed and operated by Luanchuan County Nature Tourism Development Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Henan Yaoshan Investment Group, and officially opened in June 2013. The lower pier is located in Xiexin Village, Taowan Town, Luanchuan County, Luoyang, Henan Province, and the upper pier is at the source of the Yi River.
The lower pier is 30 kilometers away from Luanchuan Station of Luoluan Expressway, 15 kilometers away from Luanchuan County, 14.6 kilometers away from the 5A-level scenic spot Jiguana Cave, 25 kilometers away from Laojun Mountain, another 5A-level scenic spot in Luanchuan County, about 65 kilometers away from the gate of Luanchuan’s most famous Chongdugou Scenic Area, about 42 kilometers away from Longyuwan Scenic Area, and less than 30 kilometers away from other famous tourist attractions in Luanchuan such as Yangzigou, Zhaigou, and Baoduzhai.
Luanchuan boasts the richest tourism resources in Henan Province. It is the only county in Henan Province and one of 17 nationally designated "China's Strong Tourism Counties." As of 2013, it boasts two 5A-level scenic spots: Laojun Mountain and Jiguan Cave, and five national 4A-level scenic spots: Chongdu Valley, Longyu Bay, Funiu Mountain Ski Resort, Yangzi Valley, and Baoduzhai. This makes it the county with the most 4A-level scenic spots in China.
With a warm temperate continental monsoon climate and hot summers, it's a delight to play in the clear river, have a water fight, and experience the thrill of cascading down the river. The best time to visit is between June and August.
