The Henan City God Temple is located within the Lijingmen Scenic Area. An existing stele commemorating the reconstruction of the Henan City God Temple dates back to May of the fifth year of the Zhengde reign of Emperor Wuzong of the Ming Dynasty (1510 AD), indicating that the temple existed before then. The temple faces south, and the buildings along its central axis, from south to north, are: a three-bay gate, a three-bay mountain gate, a three-bay theater, a hexagonal stone pavilion, a three-bay curved roof, a five-bay Weiling Hall, and a five-bay rear hall.
The main building, the Weiling Hall, is named after the City God, who was given the title Weiling Gong. It is five bays wide and four bays deep, with a single-eaved hip-and-gable roof, bracketed eaves, and a glazed tile roof. The hall originally housed a wooden statue of Weiling Gong, flanked by statues of the Judge and the Speedy Reporting God. The east and west wings between the two north and south theater buildings housed the City Gods of the ten counties of Henan Prefecture. The wings in front of the Weiling Hall housed shrines for the King of Qin Guang, the King of Chu Jiang, and the Emperor of Song. While the statues within the temple were destroyed, the Weiling Hall has been restored and is now a provincial-level cultural relic protection site.
