Located in Mengjin County, Luoyang, the Mausoleum of Emperor Guangwu of Han, formerly known as Yuanling, is the burial site of Liu Xiu, the founding emperor of the Eastern Han Dynasty. Because Liu Xiu was known for his closeness to the people, locals also call it "Liu Xiu's Tomb." Construction began in 50 AD and comprises a sacred path, mausoleum grounds, and ancestral halls. Nestled against Mount Mang to the south and facing the Yellow River to the north, the mausoleum is a lush and majestic site, nestled between mountains and water. The towering gates are imposing, and the wide sacred path leads directly to the mausoleum, flanked by numerous stone carvings and stele tablets.

Emperor Guangwu's mausoleum, located in the northern part of the mausoleum complex, faces south and is rectangular in shape. It consists of a shrine, a courtyard, and the mausoleum grounds. A sacred path runs from the mausoleum to the gate, flanked by stone statues, horses, and other stone sculptures, along with neatly arranged lush cypress trees. Among these, 28 towering cypresses are known locally as the "Twenty-Eight Mansions." Legend has it that they symbolize the "Twenty-Eight Generals of the Cloud Terrace" who accompanied Emperor Guangwu on his campaigns throughout the country.

Every year around Tomb-Sweeping Day, when the sky is clear, the clouds are gentle, and the morning light appears, a purple mist suddenly fills the mausoleum, resembling light smoke and drifting clouds. This mist slowly moves from west to east, gradually enveloping the entire mausoleum in a hazy cloud.
