Wenchang Pavilion in Ganxian County is located at the source of the Ganjiang River in Jiangxi Province, on the north bank of the Gongjiang River, in the southern part of Ganxian County, and west of Gannan Hakka Celebrities Park. It occupies 1,032 square meters, with a construction area of 2,696.62 square meters. The highest point is the top of the pagoda. The pavilion itself stands 39 meters tall, with the base 7.36 meters high, for a total height of 46.36 meters.
Wenchang Pavilion is square in plan and has five floors, with hidden levels between the first and second floors. Construction began on October 2, 2009. The entire project utilizes antique building materials and incorporates traditional construction techniques with modern technology. Its interior features a frame structure and exterior features a Song Dynasty-style wooden structure, embodying the charm of Song Dynasty pavilions and the legacy of Tang Dynasty buildings.
Wenchang Pavilion is a classic architectural masterpiece that fully showcases the history and culture of Ganxian County. It is also a vital venue for residents of Ganxian and Ganzhou, as well as domestic and international tourists, to relax, enjoy the view, and recite poetry. Its completion is of great significance in enhancing the city's quality, promoting Hakka culture, and meeting the people's growing spiritual and cultural needs. Qiu Rufo praised it, saying, "The towering pavilion rises above the Gong River, its Tang and Song styles radiating its splendor. This blessed land has produced talented individuals for thousands of years, and its outstanding people will forever celebrate Wenchang."
