The Imperial Kiln Factory National Archaeological Site Park in Jingdezhen is located in Zhushan District, Jingdezhen City, Jiangxi Province. It is rich in historical relics, including the remains of the imperial kiln industry, kiln remains, walls, roads, ancient wells, ancient trees, kiln industry accumulation remains, government office buildings and other ancillary building remains from the Ming and Qing Dynasties.
This site is the only historical relic in my country that can comprehensively and systematically reflect the production and cultural information of official kiln ceramics. The site covers an area of about 50,000 square meters and has rich underground cultural relics. After the founding of New China, there have been five large-scale excavations of the imperial kiln site, and 11 Ming official kilns have been cleared. It was rated as one of the top ten archaeological discoveries in 2003, attracting great attention from the ancient ceramic archaeology community at home and abroad. In 2006, the imperial kiln site was announced as a national key cultural relic protection unit by the State Council.
Archaeological excavations have uncovered relics of gourd-shaped kilns from the Ming Dynasty and the late Qing Dynasty and early Republican period, along with a large number of rejected imperial porcelain fragments from the Yuan Dynasty, the Hongwu, Yongle, Xuande, Zhengtong, Chenghua, Hongzhi, Zhengde, Jiajing, and Wanli periods. The ceramic miniature "Imperial Kiln Factory" within the Longzhu Pavilion, based on relevant documents such as "Jingdezhen Pottery Records" and "Taoye Tu," took four years to design and create. Using ceramic materials fired at high temperatures, it incorporates nearly a thousand artifacts from ceramic production and daily life, vividly recreating the glorious past of the Imperial Kiln Factory.
Subtropical monsoon humid climate; the Imperial Kiln Factory National Archaeological Site Park has rich porcelain relics, vividly reproducing the glorious production scenes of the Imperial Kiln Factory in the past, and is suitable for travel in all seasons.
