Sanlv Temple Ancient Street is located opposite the People's Park in the northwest of Jingdezhen City, Jiangxi Province, at the intersection of Changjiang River and Xihe River, on the hilltop on both sides of Changjiang River, facing the town's "Lishi Ferry" across the river. The entire Sanlv Temple Ancient Street is divided into three parts: Ming Street, Qing Street and Ancient Wharf. It is a famous historical and cultural district.
The Ming Street of Sanlv Temple is 84.7 meters long and 4.5 meters wide. It was built during the Jiajing period (1522-1566) in the middle and late Ming Dynasty. It has a blue brick street surface that is still well preserved after 500 years. The road surface is arched and there are drainage ditches on both sides. The whole street is not as well preserved as the Qing Street, and the atmosphere is usually deserted.
Qing Street in Sanlv Temple is 231 meters long and about 3 meters wide. There is a stone tablet with the words "Sanlv Ancient Fence" at the entrance of the street. The street is paved with long stone strips and bluestone slabs. There are various shops and houses on both sides of Qing Street. It was once a very prosperous commercial street in the Qing Dynasty. After being restored in 1998, it reveals a hint of modern atmosphere in its simplicity.
The ancient wharf is built with bluestone strips and has three layers to adapt to the requirements of different water levels. It is very scientific. There is also a "Zhongjie Hou Temple" built on the ancient wharf to commemorate the famous poet Qu Yuan, namely the "Sanlu Doctor Temple". The north side of the Sanlu Doctor Temple is the entrance to Qing Street.
