Lianhuatang is located in the urban area of Jingdezhen, Jiangxi Province. It is a very famous and scenic leisure place in Jingdezhen. It was once named because of the lotus flowers blooming all over the pond. To the north of the pond is Lianhuatang Park.
Lotus Pond stretches approximately 340 meters from north to south and 130 meters from east to west. A small bridge at its center divides the pond into two sections, forming a roughly "Lü"-shaped section. A pavilion, each embracing an antique charm, stands amidst the lush trees, creating a breathtakingly beautiful scene. The north bank of Lotus Pond, shrouded in towering trees and offering a cool summer climate, is home to the Jingdezhen Joint Venture Hotel, once Jingdezhen's most prestigious establishment. On Lianshe Road, on the south bank, lie the Jingdezhen Ceramics Museum, the Ceramics World, and the Jingdezhen Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China.
According to legend, Lianhuatang was once called Chenyutang. Historical records state, "Chenyutang is located in Xuejiawu, where the daughter of Minister Xue died of chastity..." During the Song Dynasty, Lianhuatang was also known as Foyin Lake, after Su Dongpo's friend Foyin once lived there. Today, a large Taihu Lake stone at the intersection of Lianhuatang Scenic Area bears the inscription "Foyin Lake." During the Republic of China, the area was designated a park, Xinyi Park, and expanded to Lianhuatang Park after the founding of the People's Republic of China.
Subtropical monsoon climate; Lotus Pond has always been a scenic spot in Jingdezhen. It is surrounded by mountains, with weeping willows beside the pond, tall buildings on the bank, clear water in the pond, pavilions, graceful lotus flowers, and people playing and walking by the pond, forming a beautiful picture of harmonious colors and the perfect integration of man and nature, which has won the admiration of many Chinese and foreign guests.
