
Located east of Yiyang County, Jiangxi Province, the castle occupies an area of nearly 7,000 square meters and was originally the place where Xie Fangde, a scholar of the Southern Song Dynasty, studied in his early years. Resembling a majestic ancient castle, it stands tall on the banks of the Xinjiang River east of Yiyang City, Jiangxi Province.
It was built by the people of Yiyang, despite numerous obstacles from the Yuan Dynasty rulers at that time, to commemorate Xie Dieshan, a famous patriotic poet of the Southern Song Dynasty and a strong fighter against invasion.
