The Huang Tingjian Memorial Hall is located on a cliff south of Xiushui County, Jiangxi Province, which is known as the " No. 1 Mountain in the 700-li Xiujiang River " . It is close to the Xiuhe River, with a dangerous cliff standing on the riverside. It is lush and green all year round, with pleasant scenery, birds singing and flowers blooming. It was the place where Huang Tingjian studied and relaxed when he was young.
The memorial hall, established in memory of Huang Tingjian , the founder of the " Jiangxi School of Poetry " in the Song Dynasty and one of the " Four Masters of Song Dynasty Calligraphy," is one of the ten major celebrity memorial halls in Jiangxi Province. Its predecessor was the Xiushui County Historical Relics Exhibition Hall in Jiangxi Province. It still houses his cliff carvings, including " Buddha " and " Fishing Rock, " as well as relics of his hand-planted lychee trees, and over 100 inscriptions of his calligraphy.
The memorial hall houses many antique buildings with local characteristics, including the gatehouse, Xishan Zizai Tower, Shangu Shrine, Jiuqu Corridor, Chengqiu Pavilion, Shunji Pavilion, Guanyun Pavilion, and Yicui Pavilion, as well as famous sites such as the Stone Gate, Canglong Cave, Litchi Cliff, Diaoji, and the cliff inscription " Buddha " .
