
Yaozigou National Forest Park is located in Datong Hui and Tu Autonomous County at the northern end of Xining, the capital of Qinghai Province. It is 18 kilometers away from the county seat and 47 kilometers away from Xining. It is the closest ecological tourist destination with unique pristine natural scenery around Xining.
The scenic area is mainly composed of Kemagou, Yaozigou and Laohugou. Yaozigou is located in the water source conservation forest area of the East Gorge of Dabashan Mountain. It is adjacent to Guanghui Temple, one of the five major Yellow Sect temples. It has a total area of 1,600 hectares, an altitude of 2,600-3,300 meters, an average annual temperature of 2.9℃, and a forked gully landform with a wide terrain.

Night visits and light shows are not available. However, there may be special eco-tours during certain seasons or festivals, focusing on the park’s wildlife and conservation efforts.
The park can get crowded during weekends and holidays. To avoid crowds, visit during weekdays, especially in the early mornings or late afternoons.
The park offers basic facilities such as toilets, water stations, and rest areas. There are a few small shops selling snacks and drinks near the entrance, but no large restaurants inside the park.
