Xihua Park (also known as Sanyuan Cave) is located on Xihua Mountain in Kaihua Town, Wenshan City, Wenshan Zhuang and Miao Autonomous Prefecture. Legend has it that this tourist attraction was initiated by a monk named Pan in the early years of the Tongzhi reign of the Qing Dynasty and developed with the voluntary participation of many skilled craftsmen.
During the reign of Emperor Guangxu, pavilions and towers were built. After several modifications, stone steps, pavilions, and exotic flowers and trees were added. It was called "Sanyuan Cave", which symbolized the "three consecutive top honors" in the imperial examination era.
Sanyuan Cave boasts a strategic location, magnificent scenery, and breathtaking views. The cave is spacious and airy, while outside, pavilions and towers rise in layers, each decorated with carved beams and painted rafters, creating a dazzling array of colors. From the entrance, overlooking the mountains and plains, a winding river, one can take in the surrounding Wenshan Basin, its farmland, and its surrounding villages. The cave is surrounded by dense forests and a cool climate, making it a popular summer retreat and tourist destination.
The subtropical monsoon climate offers mild winters and mild summers, with cool, dry weather and warm, rainy weather coexisting in the same seasons. The annual temperature difference is small, and the oceanic climate is more pronounced, with spring temperatures higher than autumn. It is suitable for travel in all four seasons.
