Introducing Fuping County Library

Fuping County Library, founded in 1924, was originally located at No. 13, Old Town Main Street. The two-story, Japanese-style brick and wood structure houses a collection of books, imitating an antique charm and a county-level cultural relic protection building. In 2000, it moved to its current location at No. 2, Yuying Lane, Ducun East Street, Chengguan Town. After several reforms and evolutions, the county library has developed into a comprehensive cultural institution integrating the collection and research of ancient books, document lending, electronic reading, lectures and exhibitions, and social education. Affiliated with the Fuping County Culture, Sports, Radio, Film, and Television Bureau, its operations are guided by the provincial and municipal libraries. In 2009, it was awarded the "Third-Level Library" designation by the Ministry of Culture.

In 2008, the Fuping Branch Center of the National Cultural Information Resource Sharing Project was established in the library, which realized the automation of library office, enriched the library's literature resources and service content, and created a more superior and convenient way of reading and leisure entertainment for readers.

The electronic reading room and multimedia screening room are open to the public free of charge. Various training lectures are held free of charge in the library all year round. Staff are organized to use projectors and other equipment to play various films and TV shows in the county cultural activity center square, main streets in the urban area, communities and other places. At the same time, the library distributes film and television and opera CDs burned by the library free of charge to benefit the general public, thereby expanding and enhancing the publicity and influence of Fuping Library and the Fuping Branch Center of the Sharing Project.
