Shennongjia Ski Resort, built in 2004 in response to the State Sports General Administration's "Northern Snow, Southern Expansion" initiative, is located within Shennongjia National Forest Park in Hubei Province, 30 kilometers from the Muyu Provincial Tourist Resort. It is the first and largest ski resort in Central China, combining artificial and natural snow with comprehensive features. With a planned total investment of 90 million yuan, 25 million yuan has already been invested in the first phase of construction. The resort can accommodate 3,000 people for snow recreation. It features beginner, intermediate, and advanced ski slopes, equipped with large and small tow ropeways, imported artificial snowmaking systems, snow grooming equipment, snowmobiles, and ski equipment. The 3,000-square-meter ski reception center features a ski equipment room, a cafe, a snack bar, a snow shop, an emergency medical center, and a ski school. For beginners, renowned professional ski instructors are employed. A wide variety of snow activities are offered, including skiing, tubing, snowmobiling, goat sledding, sledding, and snow biking.
Shennongjia International Ski Resort is located in the Shennongjia Forestry District, an area known for its rich biodiversity and UNESCO World Heritage status. The resort brings modern winter sports to Hubei and serves as a key recreational and tourism hub for both locals and visitors.
