Huaxi Park, located in Huaxi Town, 17 kilometers south of Guiyang City , is a famous tourist destination in Guizhou. It is a natural park that integrates real mountains and waters, rural scenery, and ethnic customs. It has always been known as the " Pearl of the Plateau " .
Huaxi Park encompasses eight scenic areas: Shili River Beach, Tianhetan, Gaopo Ethnic Customs and Natural Scenery, Qingyan Ancient Town, and Qiantao Secluded Land. The Huaxi River, known as " China 's First Love River , " winds through the park , its crystal - clear waters visible to the bottom and the surrounding scenery ablaze with beauty.
Built along the Huaxi River, the park's scenery is centered around the four mountains of Lin, Feng, Gui, and Snake. This is where Ba Jin and Xiao Shan held their wedding. Zhou Enlai and Deng Yingchao also once rowed a boat on the Huaxi River. Every spring, the park becomes a haven for exotic flowers and plants.
The most famous places in the park are the Hundred-Step Bridge and the Golden Avenue. The Hundred-Step Bridge is a series of stone steps winding through the water, allowing visitors to cross the river; the most eye-catching feature of the Golden Avenue is the two towering sycamore trees, which provide thick shade in summer and are full of golden color in autumn.
