As its name suggests, Moruo Hall was built in memory of Guo Moruo, who was born in Shawan, Leshan. It houses the Sichuan Guo Moruo Research and Information Center, displaying images of Guo Moruo's life and deeds, various editions of his works, and an exhibition of his research findings.
Located in the northwest corner of Lingbao Peak, Mo Ruo Hall, renovated from a traditional Chinese-Western style house, boasts a simple and elegant design, constructed with blue bricks and gray tiles. The three characters "Mo Ruo Hall" (Mo Ruo Hall) are inscribed on the door lintel by Chu Tunan, and on either side are couplets penned by the renowned writer Ma Shi Tu. A full-length bronze statue of Guo Moruo, approximately 3 meters tall, stands on a 10-meter-high staircase in front of the hall. Next to the statue stands a 6.5-meter-tall granite pen, its shaft engraved with images of goddesses, Qu Yuan, and the Phoenix Nirvana. The pen points to the blue sky, symbolizing Guo Moruo's enduring achievements.
