family reunion, july 2024, fishing

we will have a group of about 18 to 20 from age 4 to 50s. We have alot of fishermen and women so would like near the water. Close enough to town to be able to go into Branson to do activities etc. Any recommendations for us to start looking and a pool is a must!!!

Branson, Missouri, is a fantastic choice for a family reunion, especially in July when the weather is warm and perfect for water activities. Since your group includes a wide age range and has a strong interest in fishing, focusing on properties near lakes or rivers will provide the best experience. Table Rock Lake and Lake Taneycomo are the two primary bodies of water around Branson, both well-known for excellent fishing and a variety of water recreation.

Being close enough to Branson’s entertainment district is also important, so look for rentals on the northern or eastern sides of Table Rock Lake, which provide a reasonable drive to downtown Branson (about 10–20 minutes depending on exact location).

Given that a pool is a must, consider large vacation homes or resorts that cater to groups and provide private pools along with easy lake access. Many properties in Branson are set up for large families and include amenities like game rooms, multiple kitchens, and spacious living areas, which can make the reunion more comfortable and convenient.

  • Table Rock Lake Vacation Rentals: Numerous large homes with 5–10 bedrooms, private docks, and pools. Ideal for fishing enthusiasts with easy lake access for boats and fishing gear. Many homes also have outdoor seating and BBQ areas perfect for group gatherings.
  • Lake Taneycomo Waterfront Homes: Typically smaller than Table Rock Lake homes, but they are excellent for trout fishing. Some rentals come with private pools or access to community pools.
  • Branson Landing or Downtown Branson Access: Consider homes or condos slightly inland but still near Table Rock Lake that are only a short drive to the Branson strip. These offer convenience for dining, shopping, and entertainment while still allowing water activities on the lake.
  • Resorts with Pool and Fishing Amenities: Some resorts around Branson offer multiple cabins or units with shared pools, lake access, and even guided fishing trips. Examples include Still Waters Resort on Table Rock Lake or local resort communities near Kimberling City.

When booking, make sure the property allows large groups (18–20 people), check if the pool is private or shared, and confirm lake access and dock availability if fishing is a priority. Additionally, renting a property with multiple bathrooms and kitchen spaces will make meal preparation and daily routines much smoother for a group this size.

Other considerations include:

  • Accessibility: Some homes have steep stairs down to the lake or dock; check if this is manageable for younger children or older adults.
  • Boat Rentals: If not bringing your own, ensure there’s a nearby marina or rental service to provide boats for fishing and recreational boating.
  • Proximity to Branson attractions: Look for homes within a 15–20 minute drive to allow easy access to theaters, Silver Dollar City, and shopping areas without spending too much time commuting.
  • Outdoor Spaces: Fire pits, decks, and picnic areas are a plus for group gatherings and evening activities.

In summary, start your search focusing on Table Rock Lake for the best combination of fishing, space, and pool availability, but don’t overlook Lake Taneycomo for excellent fishing opportunities. Private large homes or resorts catering to big groups will make your family reunion more comfortable, while a short drive will keep you close to Branson’s entertainment options.
