North Georgia - multiple cabin rental?

Hey there!

I've searched a bunch for this over the years, but I've never come across exactly what I'm looking for. I'm looking for a place that has multiple small cabins to rent (like 2br) close by or next to each other. Ideally pet-friendly.

My family likes to do a group Thanksgiving every year but as the kids have gotten larger its getting difficult to cram us all in one cabin together. For sanity, we'd love separate cabins nearby and to gather in one for meals etc. I've just never come across a place with such a setup. I've found plenty of cabin companies with multiple properties for rent, but they are usually spread out over a region or area requiring a drive. Not close enough to just pop between them.

We are open to all of North Georgia or even into TN/NC.

Anyone ever hear of a place like this?

I think I've just been dreaming up the ideal scenario for years. LOL!

It sounds like you're looking for the perfect getaway in North Georgia (or even extending into Tennessee or North Carolina) that offers multiple small cabins close to each other, ideally pet-friendly and perfect for a large family gathering. Finding a place with this type of setup can be a bit tricky, but there are some options that might fit your needs.

Here are a few suggestions for places in North Georgia and surrounding areas that offer multiple cabins either close to each other or on the same property:

  • Blue Ridge, GA (North Georgia Mountains):

Blue Ridge is a popular destination for cabin rentals, and there are some cabin rental companies that offer multiple cabins on the same property or very close by. Companies like "Blue Ridge Cabin Rentals" or "Mountain Top Cabin Rentals" offer several cabin options in close proximity. They might be able to accommodate large groups who want separate cabins nearby. Some even offer pet-friendly cabins.

  • Ellijay, GA (Near Blue Ridge):

Ellijay, known for its scenic views and vineyards, is another great area to explore. There are multiple cabin rentals in close proximity in areas like the "Cartecay River" or "Ellijay Mountain". Some cabin communities here offer several cabins on the same property, so you won’t need to travel far between each one. Many of these are pet-friendly and offer great spaces for family gatherings.

  • The Cohutta Wilderness Area:

This area is located in the northern part of Georgia and extends into Tennessee. Some cabin rental companies have properties within or close to the Cohutta Wilderness area, which includes multiple cabins on the same site. This area offers a more secluded, forested environment, perfect for a peaceful retreat. Some properties even offer access to hiking trails and creeks. Look for “Cohutta Springs Resort” or "Cohutta Wilderness Cabin Rentals" for options in this region.

  • Blairsville, GA (Near the North Carolina Border):

Blairsville is another charming mountain town with several cabin rental companies that offer multiple cabins on the same property. The area is close to Vogel State Park and has several family-friendly outdoor activities like hiking, fishing, and swimming. Companies such as "Nantahala Outdoor Center" and "Enota Mountain Retreat" in Blairsville offer multiple cabins within a short walk from one another, making it ideal for group stays.

  • Bryson City, NC (Near the Georgia Border):

While not exactly in Georgia, Bryson City in North Carolina is just a short drive from the northern Georgia border and offers a beautiful, secluded setting in the Smoky Mountains. The "Nantahala River" area around Bryson City has several cabin communities that provide multiple cabins on the same property. It’s a great place for families with plenty of outdoor activities like hiking, rafting, and exploring the Smoky Mountains.

These areas offer a mix of close-knit cabins and pet-friendly options, so you should be able to find something that fits your needs for Thanksgiving. You may need to contact the rental companies directly to confirm if they can accommodate your specific needs, such as cabins close together and with pet-friendly options. It’s also worth inquiring if the property has a main cabin or community room where you can gather for meals and activities.

Good luck with your planning! It sounds like you’ve got the perfect idea for a relaxing family retreat!
