Moms 70th Birthday
Hi there,
I am planning a trip for my moms 70th birthday May 20-23, we are staying at Paris. I wanted recommendation for one show and maybe nice dinner, around $$ nothing extremely expensive but sth where experience is more memorable...she loves asian fusion, steak or anything the ambiance is important as well .
How is michael jackson Cirque show or do u recommend other cirque de soleil?
Any recommendation for good roof top and lounge at night that suits her age?
I have lots of time but wanna start planning...also any free shows or things to do will also be appreciated as we are somewhat on a budget but will indulge for one nice show or dinner.
Celebrating your mom’s 70th in Las Vegas at Paris is a wonderful idea! Las Vegas offers a mix of memorable shows, dining experiences, and rooftop lounges, suitable for a milestone birthday. Here’s a detailed guide to help you plan a special yet manageable celebration.
Shows:
- Michael Jackson ONE by Cirque du Soleil: This is a high-energy show with music, acrobatics, and vibrant visuals. It’s fun, accessible, and widely loved, though it’s more upbeat and modern than some other Cirque shows. Great for fans of music and dynamic performances.
- O by Cirque du Soleil (Bellagio): If you want a more elegant, awe-inspiring experience, O is water-based, theatrical, and has a sophisticated ambiance. It’s perfect for a memorable birthday evening.
- “Le Rêve – The Dream” (if still running at Wynn/Resorts): Another visually stunning water-themed show, intimate and elegant, suitable for a refined celebration.
Dinner Recommendations:
- Momofuku (The Cosmopolitan): Asian fusion with high-quality, creative dishes. Lively atmosphere but not overly formal.
- Yardbird Southern Table & Bar: Comfort food and great ambiance; more casual but very enjoyable.
- Javier’s (Aria or Bellagio): Upscale Mexican cuisine with beautiful, atmospheric interior.
- STK or Bavette’s Steakhouse: Excellent steaks with stylish ambiance; a modern vibe without being overly formal. STK has a fun energy, while Bavette’s is more classic.
- Mon Ami Gabi (Paris Hotel): French bistro with outdoor seating overlooking the Strip—perfect for a special birthday dinner without excessive cost.
Rooftop Lounges & Nightspots:
- VooDoo Rooftop Nightclub (Rio): Iconic view of the Strip; fun atmosphere but more lively, may suit early evening drinks.
- Parasol Up/Down at Wynn: Upscale lounge with incredible views; sophisticated and relaxing.
- Foundation Room (Mandarin Oriental/Now at Mandalay Bay): Elegant lounge with a stunning panoramic view; quieter, perfect for adults celebrating a special occasion.
- Skyfall Lounge (Delano): 360-degree view, classy atmosphere, perfect for cocktails and photos.
Free or Budget-Friendly Activities:
- Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens – beautiful seasonal displays.
- Fountains of Bellagio – iconic, free water and light show.
- Mirage Volcano – fun, dramatic eruption show.
- Explore the Strip – many hotels have free art installations, aquariums, and light shows.
Tips:
- Book your main show and dinner in advance, especially around May when Vegas is busy.
- Consider early dinner reservations if you’re pairing with a show for easier timing.
- For rooftop lounges, check for happy hour or early evening slots to enjoy views and drinks without crowds or high costs.
In summary, for your mom’s birthday: pick one standout show (Michael Jackson ONE or O), have a memorable dinner at an Asian fusion or steak restaurant with great ambiance, enjoy a scenic rooftop lounge, and supplement with free Strip activities for a well-rounded celebration.
