Any hotels in downtown Boston that have rooms without rugs?

I'm struggling to find a Boston hotel in downtown or near it that provides rooms that have only hardwood or tiles. We have allergies and would be more comfortable if the room did not have a rug. Do you happen to know of any good ones? I've called more than 5 hotels already.

Finding a hotel in downtown Boston without carpeting can be challenging, as many hotels still use rugs for their aesthetic and comfort. However, some hotels are more likely to have rooms with hardwood or tile floors, especially those with a modern or minimalistic style. Here are some options to consider based on your needs:

  • The Langham, Boston: This luxury hotel offers a more contemporary and sleek design. While it's not guaranteed that all rooms are carpet-free, you can inquire specifically about rooms with hardwood or tile floors when booking. The staff may be able to accommodate your request.
  • Aloft Boston Seaport District: Aloft is a more modern, minimalist chain, and their rooms often feature hardwood or tile flooring, making it a good option for those with allergies. The Seaport District location is a bit outside of the downtown core but still close to major attractions.
  • Hotel Commonwealth: Known for its modern design, Hotel Commonwealth might have rooms with non-carpeted floors. Contacting the hotel directly and requesting a room without rugs might help in securing a suitable option for your needs.
  • The Godfrey Hotel Boston: Located in the heart of downtown, The Godfrey has a modern design and offers clean, sleek rooms. It’s worth calling ahead to confirm whether they have rooms with non-carpeted flooring.
  • The XV Beacon: This boutique hotel in downtown Boston is known for its luxury and contemporary design. Some of its rooms are more likely to have hardwood floors, so contacting them ahead of time is recommended to ensure they meet your specific needs.

When contacting any hotel, be sure to mention your allergy concerns and request a room without carpets or rugs specifically. Many hotels will do their best to accommodate special requests, especially for health reasons. If you're unable to find a match, you may also want to inquire about the possibility of a room with a rug that can be temporarily removed for the duration of your stay.
