Coming for a long weekend Easter weekend. We are staying at Windsor court. Where is a good spot nearby to watch the Easter parade.? Any recommendation for an “off the beaten path “ spot for lunch. We tend to always eat at the well known traditional spots in or near the ( Acme, Napoleon house, Le Petite grocery , Parasol, Turkey and the beast , Galatoires, Mr Bs, Gw fiins,Felix, tujaques, Jacques imos ,) . Wanted to try a few new places this trip.
For the Easter weekend, Windsor Court is a great location to enjoy New Orleans festivities. One of the best spots to catch the Easter parade is along St. Charles Avenue, which is right near the Garden District. You can find a great viewing spot at the intersection of St. Charles and Napoleon Avenue, or closer to the French Quarter near Canal Street. If you want to avoid the large crowds while still being close to the action, try areas like Magazine Street or Washington Avenue, which offer a more relaxed atmosphere while still providing excellent views of the parade.
As for "off the beaten path" lunch spots, it’s great that you want to try some new places! While traditional spots like Acme, Galatoire's, and Tujaques are iconic, New Orleans has so much to offer beyond these. Here are a few recommendations that are a little more under the radar but still delicious:
If you're looking to explore some more unique dining experiences in the city, try visiting the Bywater neighborhood or the St. Roch area, which offer a lot of up-and-coming spots that are slightly off the beaten path. Enjoy your trip!
