The Getaways

The Kihei Fourth Friday Celebration is a wonderful way to experience local Maui culture, music, food, and crafts. Held monthly on the fourth Friday, it’s free to attend and offers a family-friendly environment. For the April 25th event, the entertainment lineup includes Marty Dread and the Arlie Asiu Trio, providing live music, along with guitar phenom Kenui Blue performing.

Aside from music, the event features a variety of local vendors and activities:

  • About 40 retail vendors selling arts, crafts, souvenirs, and local products.
  • Food trucks offering a range of Hawaiian and international cuisine for casual dining while exploring the event.
  • A keiki (children’s) zone with activities for families traveling with kids.
  • The largest Classic & Collectors Car participation yet, organized with Valley Isle Hot Rodders, so car enthusiasts will enjoy a showcase of vintage and custom vehicles.

The celebration runs from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, making it an easy evening outing. Visitors can stroll around, enjoy live music, grab some food from trucks, and take in the vibrant atmosphere created by local artisans and performers.

If you’ve been to similar monthly events in Kihei or Wailuku, you’ll find this one maintains the same festive and community-driven vibe, with opportunities to mingle with locals and experience Maui culture firsthand.

  • Arrive early if you want to browse all vendor booths before it gets crowded.
  • Parking can be limited near central Kihei, so consider walking if staying nearby or allow extra time to find parking.
  • Bring cash, as some vendors may not accept cards.

This event is ideal for a relaxed evening, whether you are local or visiting Maui, offering a mix of music, food, and cultural experiences all in one convenient location.
