Mini trip report so far

In the past few years (of 15?) coming to Maui, we have plot the trip. First half on west Maui at Napili Kai - we love the efficiency ocean front rooms in Puna with kitchen and beautiful lanai. We got to do our favorite things - swimming, strolling, taking whale watching with Gemini and eating (twice!) at Joeys Kitchen in Napili, MaLa Tavern, Dukes, brunch at the Plantation House. All delicious and service was great! We tried a couple of new things - highly recommend Maui Ocean Adventures for whale watching (the pink boat) - Captain Emma’s boundless enthusiasm was so infectious!! Fun fun. And we strolled at the small Napili farmers market and had the most delicious fruit bowl in a small pineapple. Yum. Now to Wailea!

It sounds like you've had an amazing time so far on Maui! West Maui, especially around Napili, is such a beautiful area with a lot of great activities and food options. I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay at Napili Kai and got to experience some of your favorite things, like whale watching and eating at Joey's Kitchen and MaLa Tavern.

Your whale watching experience with Maui Ocean Adventures sounds fantastic! Captain Emma's enthusiasm must have made it even more special. The pink boat is definitely a unique touch, and it's great to hear that you had such a fun time. Whale watching in Maui is always an unforgettable experience, and it's always nice when you find a local operator who adds to the enjoyment.

The small Napili Farmers Market sounds like a gem too. A fruit bowl in a pineapple sounds like the perfect refreshing treat! There’s just something about the fresh local produce that makes it so much better.

Now that you're heading to Wailea, you’ll find that it offers a different vibe but is equally stunning. Wailea is known for its luxurious resorts and beautiful beaches, perfect for relaxation and scenic walks along the coastline. There are also some amazing dining spots and activities to explore. If you're looking for recommendations, here are a few suggestions:

  • Wailea Beach Path: A beautiful walking path along the coast that connects several resorts and offers amazing ocean views. Perfect for a morning stroll or a sunset walk.
  • Spago at Four Seasons: If you're in the mood for fine dining with an incredible view, Spago is a great choice. The food is fantastic, and the ambiance is top-notch.
  • Makena Beach: A less crowded, beautiful beach that's perfect for swimming and relaxing. If you haven't already, it's definitely worth a visit.
  • Wailea Farmers Market: Just like the Napili market, the Wailea Farmers Market offers a great selection of fresh produce, local food, and crafts. A nice place to pick up some snacks or souvenirs.
  • Snorkeling at Molokini Crater: If you’re up for a new adventure, consider a snorkeling trip to Molokini Crater. It’s one of the top spots for marine life and crystal-clear water.

Enjoy the rest of your trip in Wailea! It sounds like you’ve been making the most of your time, and there are still so many more beautiful spots to explore. Mahalo for sharing your experiences, and have fun!
