Hotel/Resort Recommendations Based on the following
Trying to do something different, as weird as it seems. I am looking for a nice resort/hotel with a large patio or terrace with either water (Ocean/Gulf/Pool/Lagoon) Prefer Orlando southward (all the way South) and can be on any coast but prefer something with extensive patio furniture, lounge chairs and/or a hammock. Needs to have great sun exposure where one can tan/chill all day, without leaving the room/patio/terrace.
If your goal is a resort or hotel with a spacious patio or terrace and water views where you can relax and sunbathe without leaving your room, Florida has plenty of options south of Orlando, both on the Atlantic and Gulf coasts. You’ll want properties that prioritize outdoor living spaces with lounge chairs, hammocks, and direct sun exposure.
Here are some recommended resorts and hotels that meet your criteria:
- Tranquility Bay Resort, Marathon (Florida Keys) – Located on the Gulf side, the villas offer large terraces and patios with ocean views, plenty of lounge chairs, and hammocks. Great for sun exposure and private outdoor relaxation.
- Cheeca Lodge & Spa, Islamorada – Oceanfront resort with rooms and suites that include expansive patios. Private cabanas and poolside lounging areas maximize sun exposure. Known for a quiet, relaxing atmosphere.
- Hawks Cay Resort, Duck Key – Offers rooms with balconies or patios overlooking lagoons and the pool. Lots of outdoor furniture and water views, perfect for tanning or relaxing in the Florida Keys sun.
- Little Palm Island Resort & Spa, Little Torch Key – Private island resort with bungalow-style accommodations featuring large decks and terraces over the water. Exceptional sun exposure and luxurious outdoor furniture for lounging.
On the west coast (Gulf side):
- Naples Grande Beach Resort, Naples – Gulf-front suites with terraces or patios overlooking the beach and pool. Plenty of loungers, sun exposure, and private spaces for sunbathing.
- Sandpearl Resort, Clearwater – Rooms with balconies facing the Gulf, extensive lounge areas, and sunny terraces. Excellent for relaxing without leaving your room.
- Don CeSar, St. Pete Beach – Iconic pink resort with ocean-view terraces and private balconies. Outdoor furniture and poolside access provide all-day sun and chill opportunities.
Additional considerations:
- Check whether the room you book has a patio or balcony facing the sun. Some resorts have shaded sides depending on room orientation.
- If your focus is sun exposure, units facing south or west tend to get more afternoon sun for tanning.
- Many Keys resorts have private pools or small beaches for ultimate privacy while sunbathing.
These properties allow you to enjoy Florida sun and water views without leaving your room or patio, perfectly suited for a chill, sun-soaking vacation south of Orlando.
