Low rise beachfront condos

We are an older couple planning a long weekend in PCB in November. We have not been to the area in decades, and it seems that most everything now is high rise condo buildings. When we vacation, we prefer to stay in updated condo units in low rise buildings directly on the beach with a nice pool. Looking for suggestions of similar condo buildings in PCB that we should consider.

Panama City Beach has indeed seen a boom in high-rise developments over the past decades, but there are still some low-rise beachfront condos that cater to travelers looking for a quieter, more relaxed vacation experience. These buildings usually range from 2 to 5 stories and offer updated units along with nice pool areas.

Here are some options to consider:

  • Seahaven Beach Condominiums: A smaller complex right on the beach with only a few floors. Units are modernized and the property has a well-maintained pool area.
  • Sandpiper Cove: This low-rise property offers direct beach access, updated units, and a relaxed atmosphere without the crowds found in high-rises. The pool is scenic and overlooks the Gulf.
  • Westwinds: Classic low-rise condos that have been recently updated. They provide a quieter setting, lush landscaping, and an oceanfront pool.
  • Surfside Resort: Another smaller-scale building with few floors, recently renovated units, and direct beach access. The pool area is pleasant and not overly crowded.

Additional tips:

  • Look for units listed as “beachfront” rather than “ocean view” — this usually ensures direct sand access.
  • Contact local property management companies directly as some low-rise properties are not widely listed on large booking platforms.
  • November is off-peak season, so many of these low-rise condos can be rented at reasonable rates and are generally less busy than the high-rises.

Overall, focusing on smaller complexes along the 30A stretch or near St. Andrews State Park may also give you the low-rise, quieter experience you’re seeking, while still having beautiful beachfront access and updated amenities.
